	“Passion, excitement and intimacy!” Chamber Music Wilmington sets the tone for its 16th season with this lush program bathed in French color, sensibility and elegance. Musical combinations for harp, flute, clarinet and string quartet will transport and delight you featuring the Debussy Quartet, Françaix Clarinet Quintet, & Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro. 	Don’t miss an elegant close to the Lower Cape Fear Historical Society’s Holiday Candlelight Tour with the CAROLINA BRASS, NC’s premier touring brass ensemble and Summit Recording Artists. Come to historic St. Mary Church to hear majestic, antiphonal selections and music of Gabrieli, Purcell and JS Bach, plus a few holiday favorites, presented with virtuosity and good humor. 	Join us in a stop on the Euro-Asia America tour of GAUBERT VIVANT! celebrating the life and beautiful music of 20th century French flute maestro, Philippe Gaubert, the most important flutist of his generation and grandfather of the “French” school of flute playing. 	The CAROLINA PIANO TRIO takes you on a date that runs full circle from flirtation and budding romance to the mature relationship with this creative program of dances and romances by American crossover composers Chick Corea & Fred Hersch, adding a dash of intriguing tangos from Piazzola and Latin love songs from Spanish romantic Joaquín Turina. 	Celebrate Mother’s Day with an original musical evening dedicated to mothers, past, present and Earth with moving selections from Dvorak, Copland, Barber, Rachmanino! and Previn among others. A tribute to Mother Earth with Steve Heitzeg’s Earthworks Suite closes the heartwarming event. Guest artists include Maria Jette, a midwestern song bird of national renown and Native American flutist/ Fulbright Scholar, David Key with pianist Barbara McKenzie and a special children’s choir.
